I've had success in working around the ehci-hcd error by recompiling the
kernel WITH power management (CONFIG_PM=y) but WITHOUT ACPI support
(CONFIG_ACPI not set). With this done, EHCI seems to be behaving... at
the very least, it's not flooding my syslogs with new high-speed USB

I've just realised that the keyboard is not recognised before X boots

Pressing enter during the init scripts normally makes blank lines appear

I am confirming the problem. Xmms freezes on the desktop after playing a midi
file.
It can be only minimized to the panel and it won't play anything else again.

I just noticed the gdb I posted in my attachment had useless information

1. apt-get install python3-dvdvideo installs /usr/bin/dvdvideo-backup-image
2. There is no man page for dvdvideo-backup-image
3. Doesn't work.

When this HP Pavilion DC9000 laptop comes out of sleep/hibernation, the
display freezes or flickers. I am forced to power off the laptop. I have
checked for propritory drivers in the software update section. One
driver is for the C67 [GeForce 7150M /nForce 630M. The other
