From my experience the staging driver works fine (if I remember correctly, I

I haven't been able to get the staging driver to work.
It is odd that both drivers seem to be loaded in karmic.
Is there any way of successfully using an rt2870-based wireless card
under karmic?

This looks exactly like debian bug: http://bugs.debian.org/539886
I have written a patch that solves the issue. Once it'll be reviewed and
accepted, it'll fix the problem in debian, and ubuntu will get the fix from
there.

Nope, I still get segfaults with this new version (

I guess this could be same bug as in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=402181
The solution is also same, ask your vendor to fix binary compatibility
or don't use packaged php5.

This bug was closed because it's assumed to be a Spring / Tomcat6

Do you manage to run it with a SecurityManager with the stock Tomcat6

and please
I'd just like to say that I'm getting this too, and the big problem here
is that there is nothing in any logs I can see that actually says what
the permission not being granted is.
Usually, the error includes something like...
java.security.AccessControlException: access denied
As I say I am now on jaunty but I'm pretty sure I did something like
this:
sudo modinfo rt2800usb (this will tell you the path to the driver make a
note of this path incase you need to reinstall it)
sudo cp driver from above /Your home folder/driver.copy
sudo rm -rf folder containing driver from
