The way php5 does its library presence checks is unusual. Apparently
someone recreated autotools functionality themselves, in a way that
breaks the multiarch work being done for Natty.
In reality, noone is likely to rework an 85K (non-empty) line configure
script! So a smaller cheaper fix needs

Note that changing configure parameter --with-
libdir=lib/${DEB_HOST_MULTIARCH} does not work, because this is used for
finding both header files and actual libraries.
So (unless others have better ideas) it seems that patching the various

Has the fix been verified? I'm still encountering this issue with a
samba 3.5.8 PPA on Maverick (i.e. the same version as Natty), and the
upstream issue was reopened the day after this bug was marked Fix
released.

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu

Now, unfortunately I was unable to reproduce this in the latest Ubuntu

Hi there,
Thank you for raking the time to file a report and try to make Ubuntu

Unfortunately, as we are far advance in the development cycle it might
be difficult to get the latest release of nmap into the archives.
However, I'll try to get in touch with the maintainer and see if these

Hi Jim,
Thank you for taking the time to report bugs and trying to make Ubuntu

The error you are experiencing seems to be becuase MySQL server is not

(That should be Jaunty, not Karmic, in the previous comment.)
There is no evidence that this bug is fixed in later releases. On the
other hand, the DpkgTerminalLog.txt attachment is missing any record of
this failure, which makes this sound rather like bug 680328 to me.

We have been using Nagios3 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS for the past 6 months or

Same here - would have thought that an update should be out by now.
It is supposed to be supported in LTS for 5 years and I presume
'support' includes pushing out established bug-fixes!

Carlos,
This is the message that was being thrown when the original problem was
cropping up; if you're still seeing this message with the patch
installed, then it (the patch) is not working properly. The server
should run even though there is no address in the config on the
10.55.55.0/24 subnet,
Carlos,
As a debugging aid, I've attached a stand-alone program that uses the
same loop as the patch for dhcpd: running it on the CC right after a
run-instances should result in output like this:
