** Description changed:
+
+ Impact: restoring containers from a checkpoint doesn't work
+ Development fix: LXC uses /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/lxc as the path to moun
the container's root filesystem in its private mount namespace
This is fixed in the 1:2014.2-0ubuntu1 for Juno (the default release for
Utopic) so I've marked Utopic as fix-released. I'll cherry pick the
upstream patch for Icehouse.
** Changed in: nova (Ubuntu Utopic)
Status: Confirmed = Fix Released

Title:
[SRU] Configurable block device
Public bug reported:
when connecting a data cd with a virtual machine (IDE CDROM 1), the virtual
machine starts up and the data cd is accessable (for example to install
software package or drivers),
but connecting an audio cd the following error appears:
Nested on Intel should be much improved in newer kernel versions
(especially with regard to nested ept as the original report seems to
indicate is in use.
So if the original emulation failure is reproducible, I'd suggest
testing on a newer kernel.

The observed failures were analyzed and could not be linked to a
regression in Xen. Based on that would declare testing passed successful
for Utopic.
** Attachment added: Summary of Utopic regression testing
** Patch added: Debdiff for the Utopic update.

I can confirm the problem in Ubuntu 14.04.1 server: I configured a
bridge for openvpn:
iface br0 inet static
address 192.168.1.6
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
bridge_ports eth0 tap0
dns-nameservers 192.168.1.1
dns-search mydomain.com
Uploaded new version for 12.04, 14.04 and 14.10; pending acceptance to
-proposed and the usual SRU baking period.
I spent a good afternoon testing this to make sure that it follows the desired
behavior. I tested it both on new images built from PPA and upgraded machines.
