Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: samba

Is This a bug ?

I can not create a usershare read and WRITE for a certain user.
These are the commands I have entered :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# net usershare add data /home/data "admin data" everyone:F
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# net usershare info
[data]
path=/home/data
comment=admin data
usershare_acl=Everyone:F
guest_ok=n

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# net usershare add data /home/data "admin data" frans:F
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# net usershare info
[data]
path=/home/data
comment=admin data
usershare_acl=AZ\frans:F
guest_ok=n

When EVERYONE is used, I can access the DATA folder (from a XP system) in read
and WRITE.
In the file browser, properties/share on the DATA folder will show "allow other
people to write in this folder" BEING SET.

When FRANS is used (user on the server), I cannot acces the data folder in
WRITE mode, only read.
In the file browser, properties/share on the DATA folder will show "allow other
people to write in this folder" NOT SET.

Is there an explanation ?
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 hardy, Samba 3.0.28a

Thanks for you reply.
