Public bug reported: When a user is authenticated against an AD server it is supposed to be able to use Windows Integrate Authentication for login on NTLM based websites. This means that the user won't be prompted for a password on such sites since the cached credentials can be used.
On Linux this is achieved by using the ntlm_auth command which is broken on winbind from samba 3.4. There is an upstream bug report and official patch for samba 3.5 here: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7589 If possible this should be backported to 10.04 LTS. ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/828813 Title: ntlm_auth fails to use cached credentials To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/828813/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
