Thanks Mark for your merge proposol and all your work so far to fix this bug. While the patch itself looks good and you have updated the debian/patches/series file so it will apply, the branch was against the version of php5 that was in Lucid at release, and not our currently updated packages.

This was released in v5.3.3 upstream, so Fix Released on the main bug task. Its worth backporting to Lucid, as workarounds and detecting which JPEGs seem difficult and haphazard at best. Mark, we are *very* far behind on stable release updates for lucid. If you could add the requisite SRU
