Upon further review, I also needed to copy over the make_*.pl scripts as well... the _list files use some shorthand here and there. Since that's about half of the package, I've built a PPA with the lucid (4.7.36ubuntu3) whois compiled under hardy, and it's working well so far. --

Attached is a diff, created by copying *_list from 4.7.36ubuntu3 (lucid) to the 4.7.24 (hardy) tree. The format looks the same and there were no real surprises that I saw. I'm not entirely sure how to get from here to an SRU, but applying this then running make produces a binary that fixes this
