At last I found that udevmonitor was not started automatically at boot.
(Probably because of failed postinstall script when udev was upgraded to 151 12
)
When udevmonitor is started, libvirtd doesn't segfault anymore.

Based on the user's comment, closing the bug as Won't Fix. Ideally,
libvirtd wouldn't segfault, but it wouldn't run properly wiithout
udevmonitor anyway, so the end result for users is the same.

Any idea what the previously-installed version of libvirt was (the one
that was working) ? Most recent updates were mostly about making the
apparmor profile more permissive, so I wonder why you would hit that.

libvirt was not changed (libvirt-bin 0.7.5-5ubuntu25) , I meant to refer to a
system upgrade done yesterday 2010-04-20 ( thru update-manager). There were
other other updates, including udev.
I noted that udev upgrade (to 151-12 ) was blocked during configuration (post
