I'm having almost the same problem, with 12.04 Precise, for the ETPS/2
Elantech Touchpad, on a different ASUS laptop. The touchpad works fine
except when I use the left touchpad button to grab and move a window the
window doesn't move at all. Sometimes, the window moves a tiny bit (a
few pixels.)
Rich, does this mean you can't use Unity for a desktop? I have had a similar
problem, but I get a lockup using Firefox or Chrome browser, but I am not sure
it is even that. I can make it lockup by just moving the scroll bar in any
windows. Then again I try to lock it up and it won't lock.

I have the same problem with both Unity 3D and Gnome Classic. My

Unity 3D or Gnome Classic results in a total freeze including TTY1-6.
I'm running 12.04
