As of 2012-10-29, the upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 broke my Launcher.
ConstrainCursor-workaround fixed the issue.
So the fix from 2012-10-22 didn't help me during upgrade.

Happens on my system as well. Ubuntu 12.10 with Nvidia 6400m G (Acer
aspire 7520 laptop). Nvidia drivers not working properly (wrong screen
resolution/ freezes/ double login (loop?!)) Because of problems with
Nvidia 12.10 is only usable with Nouveau drivers, but I need to restart

My iMac worked fine under 12.10 (with NVIDIA driver I believe, but not sure),
then I did the upgrade to 12.10. On reboot, X said that the graphics are not
detected correctly. I chose to reset the graphics and rebooted from tty1 that
worked, but bad resolution. This time,
I hate to be that guy but somebody has to say what I'm sure others are
thinking.
It's a horrible decision to ship a broken Mesa in a desktop-oriented
distro, when both major desktop environments (Unity and KDE) use or rely
on it, and it affects nearly-ubiquitous commodity video hardware.

I'm waiting eagerly for this patch to be applied to the Kubuntu package
and will test as soon as I can get a package to install.

four hours now, did several suspend-to-ram and mouse was smooth all the time!
I also did not see any kworker processes running, which are present in newer

I suffer same problem with Microsoft's InteliMouse and Logitech's MX510 mouse.
Both USB mouses randomly stop working. Reconnecting fix the problem for a while.

It seems that an upgrade to 12.10 worked for me, because it has the new
kernel 3.5. I'm still testing it and found a few bugs (audio is buggy
and skype crashes a lot) but I doubt they are related.
I also checked my Arch Linux kernel and it was also running 3.5 so
perhaps the kernel can be in

laptop. I do understand that the default driver probably runs up the
main cpu(s) at high revs and uses the ATI/AMD module strictly as a
presentation device, if that. My older Radeon 3000 GPU (AMD RS780 on-
board chip set)
My experience is unfortunately quite poor with my Mobility Radeon HD
3650 (RV635)
The dash is slow, it takes a few seconds to come up and if I type
anything in it takes a second for it to show what I've typed and even
longer to find results. It was so slow that I went straight back to
12.04 where
There is nothing I can do about this since fglrx plays tricks with the
intel hardware without knowledge of the driver.
