Gnome-Shell)
Both machines are 64 bit versions.
First: Nvidia 8600m using nvidia's driver
Second: Intel Sandy bridge (i3 with HD3000 gfx build-in)
For me it is not driver/DE

sorry for the delay.. the thing is that I use these days an external mouse
hooked to external keyboard (Apple Aluminium ) and the mouse doesn't freeze.

I am using 12.04 and I have tried both 304 drivers and the newest 310
driver and I still have this issue. I run a dual monitor (cloned) setup
and when I press the super key, the dash appears, but the launcher still
does not. The only driver that works for me is 295.40.

be experienced with the Additional Drivers method of installing the
NVIDIA binary driver as well. (As far as I can tell this would affect
anyone with an NVIDIA wanting to use the binary drivers, but then I

Hi Raymond,
I believe Radeon 9250 (RV280) is already supported by Ubuntu.
I also have a Radeon 9250 AGP graphics card, and it works well.
The discussion here is related to ATI Technologies Rage 128/128 Pro-based
graphics, not the newer Radeon-based graphics.
