Christopher, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
My long HDMI cable broke and haven't bothered to replace it, so I
honestly can't say if it's still an issue. I've closed this one and if I
ever get around to getting a new long cable and the bug persists, I'll
report it again.

Isn't it odd that the screenshot shows it to be perfect, when it's
really over scanning by about 5%. There are no settings I can adjust on
the HDTV.

Additional information. On both Quantal and Raring, the output on the
HDTV is about 5% larger than the laptop display. I can just get to the
lower half of the panel and about half the launcher.
Watching streaming videos is a bit hard as a result as some controls are
barely visible.

According to the XorgLog.txt both the LVDS panel and the HDTV are being
initially set to 1280x720.

Yeah. The laptop's highest resolution is 1366x768 and the HDTV is the
lower value. What changed is that both could co-exist with the mirrored
display unchecked, but now when the HDMI cable is plugged it the laptop
display acts as if the size is larger than it really is, with no
launcher or bottom
