The first test is with openchrome SVN 817, external monitor connected.
Results: on both displays the right and bottom part of the desktop is not
visible, out of the size of the 1024x768 screen size. Mouse is visible on both
displays.
It is interesting that the panel size is recognised correctly
Second test with openchrome SVN 817: external monitor disconnected.
Results: the desktop on Panel looks like the same as in comment #61: parts on
the right hand side and bottom is not shown because it is too big to fit
1024x768. Mouse pointer is shown. Good news is that the system is not
I downloaded and tested ubuntu-9.10-desktop-i386.iso . This problem
still exsists in Ubuntu 9.10.

to 1024x768 and the full desktop is visible on both the internal and the
external display.

I think the problem exists in the VIALoadPalette function (in
via_driver.c file).
To avoid it try to set up 8 bit color depth, in xorg.conf file.

monitor was connected. I added DefaultDepth 8 to the xorg.conf like

I installed openchrome driver from SVN 793. When the external monitor is
not connected the panel size (1024x768) is still not recognised. The
desktop is still bigger than the visible area.

driver from SVN 793 also not working correctly. On both displays the
desktop is bigger then the visible area.
