Only detect one one screen in Lucid - hence cloned displays.
The displays are fine though:

I can also confirm that it occurs in Lucid, at least in an upgraded-to-
Lucid system. My original install on this system was 8.04, I believe. I
will test on a fresh install soon and report back.
What information can I provide that is helpful?

Hi destroyedlolo,
This bug was reported against an earlier version of Ubuntu, can you
test if it still occurs on Lucid?
Please note we also provide technical support for older versions of
Ubuntu, but not in the bug tracker. Instead, to raise the issue
packages in https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-
video-mga/+bug/292214 plus some re-hacking of my xorg.conf fixed my
problem. Thanks!

I have dual-out on Lucid, but xrandr only shows one screen and detect
monitors shows Unknown. However, it did guess to the appropriate LCD
resolution 1280x1024. All my gnome-panels are incorrectly sized or do
not appear at all until I play with the monitor size, making bigger or
smaller. No
... by dual-out I mean the same display, duplicated. not two
independent desktops =( ...

I think the problem is with the driver of this card which is very poorly
supported : as example, Ubuntu is unable to detect the monitor attached
to this device (always displayed as unknown) whereas the same one is
perfectly detected on another machine as per Question #93091.
Best regards,
Me too, with a later Matrox card, reported as;
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. Millenium
P650/P750 (rev 02)
I assume that this driver package is appropriate for that card as well.
