I noticed the fd0 error messages in CurrentDmesg.txt and tried turning
floppy support off from my motherboard BIOS. It defaulted to on, even

I can almost confirm that there is no more screen corruption with latest kernel:
3 boot and what I see is corruption before gdm set background, then screen
rendered correctly.

Argh... I too quickly followed instructions of bug report. Why couldn't
installer mkdir /usr/lib/nvidia by itself? Creating dir is far enough,
so calling this bug is exaggerated... Nevertheless it might have been

the udev rule to add a tag 'vmmouse' that the config then recognizes
with MatchTag.

Since recent updates (I'm sorry I can't be more specific) I am no longer
experiencing this problem of an X without a mouse pointer. But I'd like
to emphasize that my video card is not an intel one.

It seems to happen more when surfing the web. I thought maybe it was an
issue with flash so I removed it and left it off but when ever I have
may tabs open in Opera or Firefox the display goes crazy.
