Netters,
WHen you a leader beginning to trust none other than his own, it does not take a
nuclear Scientist to know that all that Flies, comes down one day.
If dictator Museveni has now come down to grooving his own mentally retarded son to be
his bodyguard, you can be sure that he is indeed a lonely man up there.

PPU Becomes Presidential Guard Brigade

NEW MAJOR: Muhoozi

--Muhoozi promoted to a UPDF major
By Grace Matsiko
CAPTAIN Kainerugaba Muhoozi, President Yoweri Museveni’s son, has been promoted to a
major in wide-ranging changes that saw the Presidential Protection Unit (PPU) changed
to the Presidential Guard Brigade (PGB).

State House sources said the changes were announced by President Yoweri Museveni, the
Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, late on Thursday night.

Muhoozi, an intelligence officer in the former PPU, now becomes the Commanding Officer
of the PGB’s motorised infantry. The latest development makes Muhoozi, 29, one of
the youngest senior UPDF officers.

Former PPU chief Major Leo Kyanda is now a Lieutenant Colonel while his deputy, Maj.
Kimbowa, is elevated to the same rank. Kyanda is on a course abroad.

Capt. James Kateera was promoted to major and is the PGB operations and training
officer. Kateera served in the same capacity in PPU.

The newly-created Second Tank Battalion is to be headed by Major Sunday, who has been
a Captain. His second-in-command, Lt. Johnson Namanya, was promoted to captain.

The New Vision reported yesterday that Muhoozi, a social science graduate and
British-trained military officer, is deployed in northern Uganda where the UPDF is
fighting LRA rebels.

He returned from Egypt last month where he completed a nine-month commander’s
course. It was not clear if his coursemates were also due for promotion.

In May, 2001, Muhoozi, then a lieutenant, was “promoted” to a major by Libyan
President, Muammar Gadhaffi but the UPDF ignored the rank.
