Not UK, but Telehouse NY 25 Broadway had a fairly long outage a few days after the initial 9/11 attack. ISTR they were initially OK, but then had a generator problems due to ingress of dust into radiators. It's a long while ago, lots of neural bit rot since then, may not have been 25 Broadway
