Re: Package download

2004-08-11 Thread Stefan Kell
Hi,

you could use the scripts which were published in the german magazine c't.
They are available at http://www.heise.de/ct/ftp/04/13/194/;. The article
is not available online.

The skript will download all necessary updates with wget.

Stefan Kell

 THIS ROCKS!

One question I have is, has anyone thought about maybe trying to have a
script, that will go out and download all the updates and free software
packages you want, and place them in the specific dirs?

Just seems like something everyone might want to do at some point, since
more updates and other software eventually will pop up.

If this is something that's already thought of, then sorry... just
 thinking here...

 Thanks

This was caused by a bad symlink in the parent directory :-( I hadn't
expected that make is accessing the parent dir.

The unatteded-4.4.zip Linuxboot ISO was successfully created, then! :-)
Thanks.

RE: Package download

2004-08-11 Thread Niels de Groot
Hi Sean,

The file prepare in the unattended\install directory is a bash-script to download
everything you need.
You'll need a unix or linux workstation (or a cygwin installation on windows) to run
it.
If you don't have experience with /unix/linux/cygwin and are having problems, feel
free to ask more help.

Greetings,

Niels de Groot,

RE: [Unattended] OS Location

2004-08-11 Thread Sean Branam
Yeah.
When the script asks what I wanted to do with the existing harddrive, I
selected Do nothing
This caused the error in the MS setup exe.

When I selected Use whole drive or something to that effect, it worked
just fine.

Got some sort of a swap file error from the MS install app, but I'll

For the record (and Email archive), I assume you sorted this out?
