Now that the DBD::mysql module has been fixed I can start implementing my
vision of storing configuration information in a mysql relational database.
Using mysql database offers many benefits:
1. You can use a web-based application to update/query clients hardware
software
Unattended 4.4 Linux version appears to be missing the Perl DBI/DBD modules for mysql.
I read somewhere that DBI/mysql support was included.
Thanks,
TJ

Subject:
If I specify multiple locations for OemPnPDriversPath value, the unattended Linux
version reports an unrecognized line error.
For example, this entry will trigger an error:
OemPnPDriversPath=Drivers\NIC\sis900;Drivers\NIC\Realtek
While this one won't:
OemPnPDriversPath=Drivers\NIC\sis900
Thx.
How does one go about adding the DBI perl module to unattended Linux version?
My plan is to read configuration info from a mysql database.
Thx.

The following items are not supported in LinuxBoot v4.0a :
a)The Realtek Cardbus PC Card (Model EP-4103DL) is not detected by the Linux kernel.
This card uses the rtl8139 controller.
b)Serial ATA hard drives are not support.
Does anyone know if these hardware are supported in v4.0b?

Argon Technology offers an updated version of RBFG that supports a few more NICs than
the standard Windows version. This product, however, is not free. They were selling
RBFG for $49.99US the last time I checked.
They also sell PXE on Disk for additional NICs including Gigabit, USB and PC
Can someone provide a quick overview of the new linux module that has been added in
v4.0?
How does one update prior versions to use Linux instead of DOS?
Thx.

Thanks for responding. I should mention also that I'm performing my

I just downloaded unattended and tried to install Win2k to VMware v4 guest OS. During

Is it possible to run unattended for a VMware virtual
Is there anyway to auto-install perl library during the post-installation phase.
I want to access a mysql database and write computer information to during the final
phase of OS deployment but I must install the DBI-mysql Perl module before I can do
this. Obviously, I can do this manually
Sorry for the late reply but I've been away on vacation..
There's a company called Argon Technology that sells PXE on Disk (or CD) with support for the Intel gigabit NIC family and a few USB network adapters as well.

Intel dropped support for PXE approx. 2 years ago. I'm not sure what the licensing
terms are but it's very unlike that the folks @ Intel would care one way or the other
about the use of this driver. They were making any money on it in the first place.
Since you are not selling a commercial
