Don't get me started on Windows faux-security!

I found that I needed to uncomment the mount.cifs code in master, and use
that over the smbmount, then I needed to explicitly declare the server name
(Because domains don't really exist now, dontchyaknow!)

So by calling mount.cifs \\myservername.my.complete.domain.name\install it
was able to work fine. (Why was that commented out, by the way?)

Go figue.

As a side note, has anyone tried to augment Unattended with some sort of
database backend for storing information on the computers installed?

I am currently working on revamping the entire interface from a series of
batch files into a database, and adding upgrade capability. I would love to
know if anyone tried it.

Sean,

Sounds like your box is too secure for samba? Google search for the
error then adjust local machine group policy as needed until you can
access your smb session.

Subject: Connecting to a Windows 2003 server

Hello,

I am launching a massive deployment for a High School in New Jersey. I
am trying to use a Dell Rackmount Windows 2003 Server to hold the files
(to get around the 10 simultaneous connection limit in XPPro). The
server gives me an error, which I have come to find means that I need
to enable SMB Message signing, a feature which I believe is part of the
LDAP/Kerberos features in Samba.

Has anyone tried to do a deployment using a windows2003 server using
this software? Is it possible with either minor modification or simply
the existing package to enable this?
