Which version of Geronimo are you using? The digest=... option is
supported in 1.2 and not in any previous versions.
Regarding the security constraints, you will typically define one group per
role for each the roles defined in web.xml and use a GeronimoGroupPrincipal
with the group
Password secret is an open secret. You might want to start by creating a
new keystore and your own passwords that really are a secret.
It is a known problem in G1.1.1 that once a wrong password is entered,
keystore state can only be recovered with server restart. This has been
fixed in 1.2.
G 1.1.2 is not released.

GERONIMO-2601 for that. I will work on the JIRA and it should be removed by
the next weekly build.
