In the keyframer object inside the choreography window :
If you chose the Fade channel as an input to replace time as the driver for a choreography it will not work. If you chose a channel that is updated in the user interface such as any transformation channels, it will work.

It's like not all channels are computed in the user interface, only the one needed.
Fade is only updated when rendering. Am I right?

Does the order matter? Must the controller be above the other keyframer in the choreography window?

Also, if you press the play button, the properties window will not update the values in realtime.
Only if you move the slider.
