My prediction is that it'll be hard for smaller
companies to keep pace with OSS development.

Hard to say . Could be easier for smaller companies just
as well . The ability to quickly adapt , as you say , may
be key . Adapt new plugins or even new philosophies .

In my experience, the time it takes to find out how a feature works, it is
the time it takes to do it manually.

Well , your point is well taken , I think . Some love

Are you using MESSIAH all the time now for animations?
RS as a modeller and then out to messiah to texture and animate?

Hi Matthias,
thanks again for this.
Another question - importing an RS Obj into Messiah - I understand in order
to texture the RS mesh in Messiah it uses named surfaces. Does this info
get carried over from RS? Any info on this?
Cheers

I think the VRML export of RS is quite OK. I did not see many exporters.

Hi Aidan,
yep *.obj format, but have in mind that you should have only 4point quads
in your models (Messiahs nurbs only accept 3 or 4 point polys).
Before exporting your models simply Divide Faces to Quads.
Then animate it in Messiah, save the scene.
