using). One thing i don't know is if you can use the nice GUI front-end in
Base to create the Tables and find the Tables are automatically in the external

It doesn't require java except under certain usage conditions. You can install
LO with Base and just switch off any hint of it needing Java.
It's the built-in back-end that does use java and some of the wizards. So,
steer clear of wizards and you'll be fine.

I'm not sure if there is an incorrect way of getting drawings from Draw into
Writer. There are probably a whole bunch of different ways for different
requirements. I think it's usually a case of keep using 1 that works until you
fancy a change or find a better way to do what you want.
