Hi,
I have old openoffice calc files (.sxc) with password protection.
Libreoffice 3.5.1 managed to save those in old format and possible with
aes256 encryption (as stated in manifest file). I have tried different
technics to solve the problem:

Hi :)
Is anyone able to forwards the petition to the USA User's mailing list? I
tried to guess at the address but got it wrong.
Personally, although i am a non-US citizen, i feel it is kinda cheating to sign
if you don't have a US passport or are not living in the US. I slightly worry

Sometimes, when LibreOffice starts and freezes, where should I locate
the error log for troubleshooting?
AFAIK there's no built-in log feature.
But you can do a backtrace, see

Hi :)
Should the devs be made aware of problems with the newer release of Java
(again)?
Each new release of Java creates more problems and each is soon found to have
more security issues so another new one needs to be released quickly. It's a
3rd party product that is difficult to track.
Tom,
Probably, I'm pretty certain this issue has actually been with us since the
Java JRE 1.6 - JRE 1.7 crossover. It impacts usability with AT because large
segments of the GUI are no longer functional with screen and brail readers
under JRE 1.7's Java Accessibility API even though the JAB is
That's not an ODF manifest.
It is not clear what the scenario is.
Can you describe, simply, what software, version, operating system, and
computer saved this particular document with the manifest you show, below? If
it was saved as an .sxc, it should not have used AES256, nor should it have
I have a spreadsheet tracking some information by date. The rows are
sparse, that is, some dates are missing. When Calc produces the chart,
it seems to assume that each row is equidistant. The distance between

Thank you for quick answer.
About the scenario... I was using Linux i386 and an old .sxc file, but it
does not depend on os. I just tried it and everyone can repeat it:

Greetings,
I noted that after I updated LO from 3.5.7 to 3.6.4, the Base date entry
format flexibility has changed. With a 3.5.7 (and before) Base form, I
could enter 12-29-12 and it would be changed to 12/29/12. With 3.6.4,
entering 12-29-12 will result in a strange date, as if it were
Do the same experiment, but this time specify Load/Save default as ODF 1.0/1.1
(not 1.2 or 1.2 extended).
If that provides a successful Save with Password roundtrip to .sxc and back,
you have a possible work-around.
Then, to recover the existing file that is a problem for you, please do my

I can replicate with the MSPI driver using your file with both LO (3.5

Thank you to those who replied. I found that changing the format of the
cell data did not affect the chart format, the cells were already
formatted as Date. The fix is to use an XY rather than a Line chart.

Hi All,
On the menu page for LibreOffice, the Database icon has the word 'D*a*tabase'
beside it. The underlined *a* signifies that instead of clicking on the
icon, the user has the option of typing Alt A to open a Database.
My question is, can the same thing be achieved with a button in a Base
