Copy to the group.

Wow, never knew that was there. All those options that don't seem to be
in any menu.

Thanks, that solved it

The facility is still there, but menus have been changed and Insert
Page Break is now in the new Sheet menu. See

https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Insert_Page_Break .

I need to be able to install page breaks.

There are multiple ways to do this (so it would have been helpful for
you to have specified which method you found not working). Apart from
using the menus, you can also go to View | Page Break Preview. In that
view, you can right-click a cell and select Insert Row Break or Insert
Column Break. There is also Delete All Manual Breaks. Once you have
breaks inserted, you can easily drag them around to modify your
selection. This is probably the easiest way to adjust pagination after
you have prepared your material.

I trust this helps.

[libreoffice-users] Copy-Paste(special) times in Calc.

2017-03-29 Thread Steve Edmonds

Hi.
Playing with the calculate decimal seconds I came across an interesting
thing, is it a bug, I am not sure.

Tested in LO 5.2, Linux and Win7.

If you create a list of times say 02:58.03, etc. down from A1
In the column next (B) enter =A1 and copy down. Format as [SS].00 so it
shows column A as seconds.

I am attempting to copy those seconds and paste elsewhere on the sheet
as just numbers in seconds. I can't seem to do this directly.
I can copy and paste into writer as HTML and I get those seconds in a
table. I can then copy the table back into calc as numbers.
In linux the numbers of seconds are copied to Klipper (the KDE clipboard
if it is still called that) and I can paste back as a text import which
is convenient for linux users.

Is there a way within Calc (as windows doesn't have klipper) to paste
the numbers only as displayed. They paste as numbers as displayed into
other applications such as notepad so they are available for pasting
from the clipboard.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Calculate decimal seconds

2017-03-29 Thread Steve Edmonds

Hi.
2 interesting options, which one you choose depends upon what you want
to do with the number you get. You need to bear in mind that option 2 is
just showing you DAYS in a different format.

If the time is how long to run 100 (m/ft) and you want to calculate a
speed for instance you would divide 100 by the seconds.

Option 1 will give you the m(ft)/second velocity.
Option 2 will give you the m(ft)/day velocity.

Quite different answers.

I have a spreadsheet containing timing results which are displayed using
the a Format code of MM:SS.00 (02:58.03).

What I require is the number of seconds the cell represents as a decimal
number of seconds (178.03) for the above value.

Option 1

The actual, numerical value stored in such a cell is a number of day. To
find this out, you can remove formating.

Suppose you have 02:58.03 in A1, you put "=A1" in A2, then Ctrl+M to remove
formatting, it will show you something like 0.002060532
To convert from "number of day" to "number of seconds", multiply with
60*60*24. For example, putting "=A1*60*60*24" in A3 will display 178.03

Option 2

Changing the format to
[SS].00
wold help.

Robert

[libreoffice-users] Calc Question

2017-03-29 Thread Gregory Forster

Hi,

I have a Windows 7 laptop and desktop with LO 4.2.2. Everything
works great! In February, for my wife's birthday, I bought her a very
nice laptop with Windows 10 on it. LO 4.2.2 would not install on it.
Apparently, LO 4.2.2 was too old a version. So I downloaded the latest
LO, version 5.? and it installed great. However, one thing is still
missing in LO 5.? that works fine in LO 4.2.2. In Calc, how do insert
page breaks in version 5.? The documentation for LO 5 states what's in
version 4.2.2, but it's missing from LO 5.? I need to be able to
install page breaks.

Thanks,

Greg
