That sounds as if you copied and pasted "on a new sheet". Have you
also tried copying the sheet using the technique I described -
creating the new sheet in the process - instead?

Optionally for bullet #2, I find it easy to click on the upper left
block where the row and column IDs converge (left of "A" and above
"1"). This selects the entire sheet. I then use Ctrl+c to copy
everything, then go to the blank sheet, click on the upper left
block on that sheet to select it and use Ctrl-v to insert the data
and formatting.

But that can produce different results for cross-sheet references
from case 2. That's why I suggested that case 2 might be what is required.

Re: [libreoffice-users] LO calc, how to copy partial sheet onto a new sheet

2018-03-02 Thread Art
I did the complete duplicate on a new sheet and my data in the formulas
in the new sheet are corrupted.

I then stripped down the spreadsheet to make less sheets, and far less
columns and rows.

And, now, I can't even copy columns from one place to another, ON THE
SAME SHEET without corrupting the formulas. Each days worth of data is 8
columns, and I want to take the existing 1 day of data and make it into
365 days worth of data. So, that's far to much editing of the formulas
to be useful.

I will send my shortened/abbreviated spreadsheet to anyone who asks via
direct email, with some notes on the sheet.

I'm totally lost.

Re: [libreoffice-users] How can I reassign a macro to a custom toolbar button?

2018-03-02 Thread jorge Rodríguez

Hi Ptoye and all:

At first, try to be more polite because almost all us are
volunteers and collaborate as we can and all of us try to do better.

As I understand, you can reassign a macro following this steps (Or
solve your problem like this) :

1) Menu-Tools-Macros-Organize Macros-LibreOffice Basic (I use this
because is the only programming language that I've used to make a macro
and assign to a toolbar. I don't know if using other language is the
same to do it.)

2) Select Assign icon to open a Dialog Window. There select Toolbars and
click on "All Commands" option. Scroll down to find Macros and select it.

3) In the Chart Function, appear the places where your macros should be

4) Found what you need

5) Now, at right, you can see the Options bar (Default Standar), where
you can select whatever toolbar existing in LibreOffice Calc. But now,
select the + icon that it place at right of it.

6) Appear a Dialog Window where you can input a name ("MyTools" for
example), to make a new toolbar where you can assign all your Macros or
only some of them. Select too the place where it will be saved (Option
below).

7) Now, select the macros that you previously found ( Chart Function
-point  4 ), and with the Arrow to right move to new toolbar "MyTools"
all the Macros that you want.

8) Click "Ok" and then Close the Window. In the area of the toolsbars
(Top of your spreadsheet), below the two first default bar, you can find
your new MyTools bar icons that each one run each macro assigned.

9) The last step is to eliminate the macros of the other toolbar where
you had assigned some of the macros and where you couldn't find place
for all of them. I hope you know how to do this to doesn't duplicate
icons in your spreadsheets (Two bar of them with some same icons that do
the same). If you had problem, can request again to the user e-mail list
of LibreOffice.

I hope this help,

Jorge Rodríguez

There's nothing in the help file about it - the "assigning scripts in LibO"

Re: [libreoffice-users] Which printer for best libreoffice integration ?

2018-03-02 Thread Tim-L

CISS - I assume that is the ink tank design that you fill the "tanks"
from ink bottles. Some are internal while others are external with a ink
"tubes" coming out of the printer.

I have seen some home office printers that include built in tanks where
you add the ink from a bottle. Epson has an "ET" line that include ink
bottles worth that is about 33 ink cartridges for each color.  Canon has
a "G" line with their "mega tanks".  The ink bottles seems to be much
less than their ink cartridges for the Canon printers I have bought.  HP
has their own family of this type of printers.

When I bought my last Canon printer, I did not see any CISS printers.
Actually, there seems to have them on sale.  The only proble seem to be
there is no Linux support in any English language country's sites.

Right now, I do much more color work, so my only laser printer is
slowly using the toner.  I have had a replacement toner on the for
several years now. I think I have about 500-600 pages to go before I
need to change out the empty one.

I love the HPLIP system.  That system is the best driver system over
any other printer brand I have used.  For Canon, I have to find
drivers in UK or other English countries since Canon USA does not
support Linux - officially from their support people. That was before
the Canon TS like of printers. I bought a TS-9020 printer and it had
basic support for Linux.  The scanner package is very limited
compared to the MG6200 line's scanner package.  At least Canon is
starting to believe that the US market also has Linux users that want
to use Canon printers.

As for CUPS, I have CUPS-pdf driver/printing service installed as one
of my printers.  There seems to references to a newer PDF creating
package, but have not found it.

So, here is my list of network printers:

Canon TS9020 inkjet all-in-one [wired and wireless]
HP Laserjet 2300dn - postscript driver used
HP Officejet 7000-E809a  - hpcups used

I had others, but they died from use.  The color laser's image "belt"
somehow got "scratched" during a toner install or a paper flow issue.
So the middle of the printout had major issues. It would cost less to
get another color laser than it would to repair it.  So I chose not
to replace it.

2018-03-02 Thread Tanstaafl
Anyone else seen this problem?

This is my first workstation I'm installing 6.0.2 on, This is in a
Windows Domain (Server 2016).

The following error occurs only when the user (same thing happens for
both Standard and Admin accounts) logs off, and only if the Quickstarter
is running. If the user quite the Quickstarter before logging off there
is no error:

"The exception unknown software exception (0x4015) occurred in the
application at location 0xef7599df.

Click OK to terminate the program."

Clicking OK allows the logoff process to continue.

The only option currently is to not run the Quickstarter. I'm wondering
now just how much faster it allows Libreoffice to start and if it worth
it to continue enabling it at all.

[libreoffice-users] How can I reassign a macro to a custom toolbar button?

2018-03-02 Thread ptoye
I have been moving a few macros about, and want to reassign their toolbar
buttons. So I go to the Macro | Organiser, select the macro, click "assign",
select the toolbar button and click "OK". And nothing happens.

There's nothing in the help file about it - the "assigning scripts in LibO"
(why can't they use the word "macro"?) page tells me how to assign a macro
to a new button, but not how to change an assignment. Did the designers
really forget that this might be needed?
