You don't - you send chinese in UCS2, as this is the only encoding apropriate supported by the handsets. I think it is possible to call send-sms with text in big5 encoding, and let Kannel convert it - set charset=big5coding=3, and if libxml recognizes it, then it will be converted to UCS2 on the

I have encountered a similar problem when using AT2, but the bearerbox - not the smsbox isn't going down after sending TERM. what I'm doing, is using my own init script that will wait for the boxes to shutdown, and if they don't (after a specified timeout) - issue a KILL signal. I'm currently
