my clients the ability to connect with with SMPP.
Which software can I use to act as an SMPP server?
I didn't find any freeware SMPP Server available so
any idead on the paid ones?

I have successful install kannel using RPM package.
My questions are :
1.How to start kannel ? I don't found any file named 'kannel'. I only found file
named 'bearerbox', 'wapbox' at /usr/sbin.
2.Whereis kannel.conf file? Where it should be? at /etc ?

If you read my post above you will see how much trouble i've been through.
That undocumented feature is a real life saver.
Use it and you will not regret it.
Changing the source is not necessry if u use the option.

gateway, your settings should be set to internal eg:
group = smsc
smsc = smpp
smsc-id = smscID
host = 127.0.0.1
port =
system-type = kannel
smsc-username = secret_as_u_set_it
smsc-password = terces
as long as the peer gateway is doing
