Am getting this error from kannel.log while trying to connect to the SMSC

What happens to the transmitter connection? It gets established or gets
disconnected also?
It may be a firewall problem or some connectivity issue. Try telnetting to
the smsc's host and port and see if you can reach it, otherwise call the
smsc operator and tell him the problem.
