I keep getting this at the other end (also Kannel):
SMSC rejected last commandcode 0x000e (Invalid Password).
Obvious this has to do with my clients file:

Yes. You should also configure system-type = my-smsc.
If still having problems, post detailed smppbox logs with failed connection
attempt.
