Yep, that's the sad truth.

I've also tried Kannel on Cygwin and it works fine as long as you
don't stress it too much: When I've started feeding Kannel with a lot
of messages simultaneously, threads started to get mad and a lot of
messages were never delivered/responded.

Despite that, it's ok for testing purposes, but don't even think about
running it on a production server! :)

BTW, if you have a fast processor and lots of memory, you can try
running Kannel on Linux over VMWare or any similar Virtual Machine.

I've tried that, and despite I wouldn't recommend it for high loads,
it won't have the pthreads problem and you can do some stress tests to
see how many messages you can handle that way...
