Also you can use the internal Kannel loadbalancing by giving the smsc's the

Just use the first init string.

Probably your ESME is not sending a (valid) validity period.

Hi again,
Just wondering,
I am not sure what you are looking for.
But if you use mysql dlr-storage, you can restart opensmppbox without any
loosing any dlr's.
Also, it is possible to connect more than one opensmppbox to the same
bearerbox.
And you can restart one opensmppbox independent of the others.

Hi Rene,
Actually it is sending the validity_period, here is an example,
addresses and data suppressed:

Hello friends,
I need to set up an SMS gateway for my project and I decided to use kannel. I'm
completely new to this subject. As I understand I need a GSM modem to use
kannel and all I can find is a dongle that works as a GSM modem. I have several
problems.

Thank you very much Rene. My friend has a Huawei E1550 dongle and I'm going to
try on it before buying one. Hopefully I'll be able to get the work done. :)

I'd recommend using SMSC provider instead of the phone/modem.
Any SMPP-service will suit your needs, just google a bit and you'll find
much better rates (especially if you're sending a LOT of messages)
comparing to the usual modem/phone SMS rates.
There are also constantly poping up problems
