I had a similar run-in about 2 weeks back.

yum install libxml2-devel*

did the trick for me

how about you move in phases?

1. Configure:

#./configure --enable-start-stop-daemon --with-mysql --with-mysql

2. Make:

#make

3. Make Install

#make bindir=/usr/local/etc/ install

Then we can know where exactly your problem is.

 make check
all commands i used before it many times but fist time i use make
check so it is taking so much time around 25-30 min. so i ctrl c and
restart the server and run my old compilation
 ./configure --enable-start-stop-daemon --with-mysql --with-mysql
 touch .depend
 make depend
 make
 make bindir=/usr/local/etc/ install
so it is showing this message when running these two commands
 make
 make bindir=/usr/local/etc/ install
 the message is make: warning:
   Clock skew detected. You
 build may be incoplete
so please help me,my kannel setup is ok(fine)or not, please i need to help.

OpenSMPPBox - Installed on CentOS 5.2 with Kannel 1.5.0 not starting!

2011-08-22 Thread Mpeirwe Benjamin
Hi All,

I have kannel 1.5.0 running perfectly on My CentOS 5.2 box, I installed
openSMPPBox through SVN as follows:

1. #svn co https://svn.kannel.org/smppbox/trunk
2. #cd /trunk/

3. #./configure

4. #make

5. #make install

Up to this point everything has run fine. Then I create the opensmppbox
configuration file as follows:

group = opensmppbox

bearerbox-host = 127.0.0.1

bearerbox-port = 13000

opensmppbox-id = smppbox1

opensmppbox-port = 9100

log-file = /var/log/kannel/opensmppbox.log

log-level = 0

our-system-id = jeejay

smpp-logins = /etc/opensmppbox/clients.txt

the configuration file is saved as: /etc/kannel/opensmppbox.conf

I try to start opensmppbox (which is located in /usr/local/sbin/) as
follows:

#opensmppbox -v 0 /etc/kannel/opensmppbox.conf

and the error I get is:

[root@nat2 sbin]# opensmppbox -v 0 /etc/kannel/opensmppbox.conf

 Hello,

Thanks Milan, but this does not solve the problem. My configuration file is
a follows:

 group = opensmppbox

bearerbox-host = 127.0.0.1
bearerbox-port = 13000

opensmppbox-id = smppbox1

log-file = /var/log/kannel/opensmppbox.log

log-level = 0

our-system-id = jeejay

smpp-logins = /etc/opensmppbox/clients.txt

the same error is shown when I run:

#opensmppbox -v 0 /etc/kannel/opensmppbox.conf

Your help will be very much appreciated

Re: In depth reading material for configuring Kannel and Hack the PHP part

2011-08-19 Thread Mpeirwe Benjamin
The first bit:

Get kannel installed and ensure it is up and running. The rest will fall in.
So do you have kannel up and running? I am afraid you will not find
everything in one go. It will be in bits and pieces.

 Hi,

I read the manual available on the site but if anyone can point at some
material including books etc., where I can learn more in depth of Kannel
including PHP part and SQLBox stuff, it would be great.

Re: How to use Kannel for sending binary SMS from Windows PC

2011-07-01 Thread Mpeirwe Benjamin
For windows try the following SMPP clients:

NowSMS
SMSC Client.net
Ozeki SMS gateway

The above are very easy to configure and use for even binary sms.

Kannel on windows could work with CygWIn but the porting will take you
through hell.

  Hi All,

I need to be able to send binary SMS messages from my Windows PC. I
wondering if this is possible with Kannel.

 ** **

I’ve looked at the documentation and I see that it will take a lot of time
to understand how everything works, to install everything and to get it
working. Could you please give me some directions on how to achieve this
and/or point to the relevant documentation parts and examples?

 ** **

I can connect a mobile phone to my PC via Bluetooth/COM Port. Can Kannel be
used to send SMS from the mobile? How to install Kannel for such a use case
 and how to use it?

 ** **

This subject is new to me, so I’ll appreciate any tips!

Re: Network initiated USSD

2011-06-13 Thread Mpeirwe Benjamin
GSM Networks usually have specific API's for USSD connections. I would
advise you get in touch with the concerned networks over this matter.

It would help if you include the following in your query:

1. OS

2. Your level of experience in using *ix systems.
