There are only new conf parameters, so your conf from the last release
should still work just fine. This release is advised as it has many bug
fixes.

Hi All,

 It's been a couple of years since we had a new release out. This does not
mean that nothing much has been happening with Mbuni (ChangeLog is out
witness). We thought the time was right for another release, so here goes.
1.5.0 is out.  More here:www.mbuni.org

 Enjoy, and of course keep the bug reports and patches coming!

My fault,i believed test-mbuni.php was the web page where i could display
the image and text i send.

Thanks a lot for your help,if i'm not wrong there should be in the Mbuni
documentation a sample php file to handle mms content...or maybe you already
know where i could get one already tested and functional?

I appreciate your help so much, my brain was collapsing after 3 days i spent

2010-11-09 Thread Cristian Padilla
HI, maybe i can help you .. If you want to save your images into a DB fist
you must have a php that recover the content from the inicial request

So, in this part of your configuration

group = mms-service
name = me
post-url =  http://localhost/test-mbuni.php
http://localhost/test-mbuni.php
catch-all = false
http-post-parameters = fx=trueimages[]=%itext[]=%iskip=1
accept-x-mbuni-headers = true
pass-thro-headers = X-NOXIA-MMSC-Charging,X-NOKIA-MMSC-Charged-Party
keyword = test
omit-empty = no
suppress-reply = true
service-code = regular

you have the test-mbuni.php

in there you only must have the code for recover image, the only thing you
have to do is save this data ... That is what you want to do ??

RE: [Users] (newbie) Receiving mms from public telecom operator usinggprs modem

2010-10-15 Thread Cristian Padilla
Hi there .

Let see,

As I can understand mbuni runs as VAS Gateway or MMSC.
A: it can run as both

This means that if running as VAS Gateway I have to be connected with
mobile operator's MMSC
using MM7 interface, am i right?
A: yes

If I am running mbuni as MMSC then I can set address of my MMSC in any
mobile phone and
when that mobile phone sends mms then it will be received by my
running mbuni, is it so?
A: yes ..

This is my first post so I would like to welcome everybody :)

I am a new user of mbuni and am not sure does mbuni solves my problems.
So if someone could help me I would be grateful.

What I want to do is to receive mmses on a given mobile number using
gprs modem connected
to pc computer.
Can I receive mmses (to my gprs modem number) from mobile phones which
have standard configuration for receiving and sending MMSes
(MMSC address , proxy server, proxy port number, etc)?

It may sound like a stupid question, but as I read mbuni documentation
I am not sure what it exacly does :).
As I can understand mbuni runs as VAS Gateway or MMSC.

This means that if running as VAS Gateway I have to be connected with

Is this the only way VAS Gateway can be used ?

2010-05-11 Thread Cristian Padilla Duff
Hi Thomas,

If i am not wrong .. the correct way is this:

To send MMS:

With a short number: you will need the autentification from the MMSC
(operator) to make this communication possible.

Using a Fake number from mbuni, you don't need operator, the only
thing you need is the url who you will call to make the mms and send it to
the mobile.

To receive MMS:

There are 2 ways to do this:

With operator, by this way you will need to be configurated
in the MMSC in the operator with a URL of mbuni who will response with a XML
after the request of the operator (short number).

Configurate the mobile with the url of mbuni in the setup
part (mms server, internet configuration).

I hope this information can be usefull for you

PS: I some one read this and saw that I am wrong please ... do the honors

Is it correct, that I only need the mmsc-url from my operator for

Thomas,

Aps ok ... now i get it, you need to see the documentation
about how to create a mmsc with a MODEM (it's the same that you have ... the
only difference is that you are using a handset not a modem).
But do you want to use your server(kannel/mbuni) as mmsc and smsc ...
that's what you want to do ?? receiving the mms in the same pc that you are
sending?? Or using internet to send him to other server?

OK ... to send mms using the handset you must find in Internet the
configuration (or do it your self) for the mbuni.

For receive the mms using the handset as modem you need to find the
configuration needed.

Sorry but what you are trying to do is not so simple :P

- first you need to configured the server using the handset as modem
- configured the server (mbumi/kannel) to take the handset as modem and send
mms thru him.
- configured the server to some way receive the mms from other handset
(assuming that the server know that the mms destinatary is the handset using
as modem)

Sorry :(

I want to manipulate and store the received messages at my computer.
MMS and SMS should only be send to other private handsets, no servers.

| | Hello,
| |
| | I read the userguide, but I am not sure if I realy need VASP or better
| | what I realy have to implement.
| | I want to be able to send MMS from my computer and be able to receive
| | MMS from other handsets.
| | Is it correct, that I only need the mmsc-url from my operator for
| | sending and have to setup a VASP-Server to receive my messages from this
| | MMSC?
| |
| | Thanks in advance

RE: [Users] MMSBox and MM1 GPRS modem

2010-03-17 Thread Cristian Padilla Duff
Hi,

Can you confirm that the directory /var/www/html/images and the
apache_pb.gif exist ….

Other thing that you can confirm is if the apache is up, or if you have an
alias correct in httpd.conf file …..because in your configuration file you
have the

group = mms-service
name = fullmessage
get-url =  http://localhost/images/apache_pb.gif
http://localhost/images/apache_pb.gif
# http-post-parameters = fx=trueimage=%itext=%t
accept-x-mbuni-headers = true
keyword = thixs

maybe something in the mmsbos.conf is not correct, look the groups … or find
other mmsbox.conf in internet … there is a lot of examples.

I tried many things (even Mbuni CVS + Kannel recommended release) but I got
always the same behavior, I am blocked since 3 days.

I want to send a MMS from MMSbox to a phone, I used:
lynx -dump http://localhost:10001/?username=altmms
http://localhost:10001/?username=altmmspassword=altmmsto=%2Bx/TYP
E=PLMNsubject=Testtext=MMS
password=altmmsto=%2Bx/TYPE=PLMNsubject=Testtext=MMS
   Accepted: Mbuni-msg.4983.x1.49.32

the logs show this (mmsbox.conf):

Hi !

I'm trying to upload a MMS into my operators MMSC (Movistar) using MM1 ??
kannel is working and mmbox-mm1 library compiled. Everything looks OK but
when mbuni tries to upload the content, crashes.
I don't know what happens first fetch content error or Connection
terminated but pppd disconnects before having the IP.

I'm not sure if is the proxy or the gateway what I have to put in custom
settings but I tried both and the same happened .

Thanks in advance !

Hi,

Sorry, but i think that the gsm MODEM give you the global gsm IP
(that is not the same when you connect to internet from you PC) (please some
one correct me if I am wrong), the hostname is how identify the Server and
the port is used to configurate the Server in some port that is not used.

Do I need really need a globaly accessible IP since all am interested in is
to receive mms messages sent from mobile handsets through a mobile network
provider to my sim in the gsm modem?

Please explain further, I most likey don't know what the hostname =
localhost and port 1981 - is really meant to do.

Thank you for your replies.
