I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I don't believe that the OpenOffice
project had anything to do with taking your money.
What was the contact information for the supposed 'help desk', and where did
you get the information from? Whoever gave you the information was probably
In addition to previous comment, know that OpenOffice and OpenOffice
volunteer support are free.
However you must access the correct websites, the actual OpenOffice

There are several good resources to help answer your questions. The Student’s
Guide to OpenOffice Writer is a very good resource for the basic information to
answer your questions:

In addition to David's note, would you please state what computer operating
system (OS) you are using?
Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Mac OS X, Chrome OS (a Chromebook), etc.
It makes a difference in regard to which installation package is correct
for you and what steps are required to
Have you read the Installation Guide at
https://www.openoffice.org/download/common/instructions.html ?
Can you tell us what you have done and what messages you get that make
you think AOO won't install. Information about your operating system -
Windows, MacOS, other, would also be helpful.

On the visual aid you disable the grid lines, and then click ok.
Now going to the zoom scale at the bottom right edge of the window you can
