I recommend that other subscribers ignore these "Please unsubscribe me"
posts and leave it to the list moderators to deal with off-list. We
cannot prevent the initial post from being delivered, but if it is
ignored we eliminate (reduce) the number of repeated and sometimes
unnecessarily insulting, "How to unsubscribe" posts cluttering our lists.

As moderators it is part of our responsibility to assist subscribers and
non-subscribers with list issues and as Peter has stated we have the
facility to unsubscribe someone if requested to do so.

FYI I unsubscribed Jeff from this list two days ago.
