Not dumb - hi-light the word to strike out, right click to open menu,
select style, select strikethrough . . . that is IF you are using
Windows OS.

I couldn’t afford to upgrade on my Windows office software after the trial was
done. I needed it desperately! Thank you so much for your Apache office

If you are using Windows OS, have you tried right-clicking the file in
Explorer and checking the attributes? If read-only has been selected,
you can change that and try again. If you are using a Mac, can't help,
sorry.
