You can run the setup file with sudo sh ./setup (assuming you've got
Java installed) and it'll sort out what's needed for installing in
Ubuntu - I just tested it last week on Ubuntu 10.10 x84_64 and it worked
fine.

I use a search engine called Icerocket.
When I enter openoffice or open office I don't get the scam
sites at all. Just legitimate Ooo sites or sites linking to them
with no mention of payment. No sponsored links. Yet another reason
not to use Google.
