When you associate .ppt files with OpenOffice don't the files open in the editor? They do on my Win XP Pro system using OOo 3.1.1 and have done with all previous versions of OOo. No, Impress goes right into slideshow mode. If I hit Esc or Exit Slideshow, Impress closes. Which OS are you
