applying styles. Presumably, it might be possible to open this dialogue
on launch using an OOo script but I am not familiar with the API or
scripting, so don't know whether that is possible.

Just found it in the Help after prodigious combinations of search terms.
Insert the cursor in the first or last cell of a table

@Hedley: give M12 a try - it works for me. You'll find it on the

I am doing production work with Ctrl-s on autorepeat! But will get M12

you tried a save -- Uh, oh! But once the file
is saved somewhere, the whole lock, auto, save, recovery thing is
normal. If you crashed while editing an RO file, too bad.
Plays nice now, though.

I received an announcement about the release of OOo 2.4 and clicked
on the link to http://download.openoffice.org/?cid=923658. But
when I clicked on the green Download bar, the installer that includes
Java was downloaded. How do I get OOo 2.4 WITHOUT Java? I always
have the latest version
to merge your explanation in to the existing content.

The Special Characters catalogue doesn't show them. The on-line help
doesn't index or find them. I can do this in Word and FrameMaker, why not
OOo? Whine, whine, whine ... . Does anyone know how this can be done,
other than crudely inserting two or more word spaces?

So, can you use references in the replace expression at all, and if so,
what is the syntax? The on-line help is conspicuously silent.
