people signing the petition know what a GUI is, know what a Ribbon and a

will be nobody so dumb to be fooled by those scam links...

any idea, Gianluca, about when a new prototype will be released?
i'm curious to see if developers will take into some account all the
negative comments (petition included) received for the previous ones...
--

well, IMHO the 0.16 prototype still sucks and stinks a lot of Ribbon...
i hope they will change direction...
all the negative comments and the petition as well (updated count is 317)
are loudly asking for this!!!

the reasons for the birth of the petition have been communicated to
Renaissance developers on their blog:

the majority of comments was negative.
we don't want a Ribbonized OpenOffice, that's it.

the best solution IMHO would be to have a double GUI (standard
Renaissance/Ribbon) users could choose. I would certainly keep using the
standard GUI since i consider Renaissance just a waste of space and a loss
of productivity fancy chunky GUI.
that's why i support the petition.

@Mathias
My dislike for Ribbon is not just because is a MS product...
If i was just a MS hater i would use a Mac... while i prefer Windows to
MacOS.
Regarding the Ribbon i had chance to try it on Office 2007 and i can tell
that it really sucks... it's context sensitivity is a pain in the ass...
well said.
the double GUI (standard and Renaissance/Ribbon) would be the best solution
and would put the word end to this controversy.
however this has been asked many times in many forums and newsgroups but
many developers seemed not to like very much that idea.
i don't know if the can't or
@Lars Nooden
your signature on the petition would be very appreciated.

IMHO, Mathias Bauer's was a classic example of politician talk...

he pretend we believe that Renaissance is not copyinf Ribbon...
that's simply ridicolous: any man with eyes on this planet sees that the
new GUI is clearly inspired to MS Ribbon.
