Today I found out this weird behavior of Calc that I had never seen before.
In a new spreadsheet, when I try to copy a simple formula, let's say
'=A1+B1' to cells D2 to F2, Calc doesn't copy the formulas.
^C and ^V don't work, and as menu commands don't work either.
What happens is that

I have maybe twenty years of experience in using spreadsheets, so I
can assure you that it's not some kind of misuse by me.
Let's consider this situation.
In a new spreadsheet, please enter values: 1 in A1, 2 in B1, 3 in C1, 4 in D1.

I did what you suggested, created a new user and Calc behaves correctly!
My system is OpenOffice 3.1.1 build 9420 64 bits on a Slackware Linux machine .
When I switched back to my normal user, Calc had the same problems again.
As I run Xfce4, 2.6.1, I had Clipman working. I closed it and

Hi James,
The sync selection option in Clipman is causing the problem. When I
deactivate it, there's no problem with Calc.
Maybe this issue could be part of some FAQ, no?
