Hi all,
We just released Proxmox VE 2.0 today!
All details can be found here:
http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/8929-Proxmox-VE-2-0-final-release-!!!
Just a small note, Proxmox VE 2.0 is based on Debian Squeeze but uses the
latest stable OpenVZ kernel, based on RHEL6x.

Hi,
Hm,
in contrast to the standard Debian Kernel the OpenVZ kernel looks like missing
the gdth driver for the older ICP Vortex RAID Controller?
When trying to steps above all i get is a system which cannot access its boot
device any more :-( Any reason why gdth is exluded in your kernels?
Hi,
The OpenVZ squeeze kernel misses updates and some important features. If you
run on Debian, you can just use our Proxmox VE kernels, they are based on the
stable RHEL6 branch from the OpenVZ team.
See http://download.proxmox.com/debian/dists/
And you can also switch completely to Proxmox

OK, at this point I guess it makes sense to file a bug, please do that.
As a workaround, try to change block device scheduler from cfq to a different
one (note though that ioprio will stop working).

Hi Kir,
Yes, the performance number shows that it does not use the cache so if anyone
want to run high load like a database on such a system the performance loss
will be significant and the system will be more or less unusable (compared to
current stable). I got this behavior ONLY with 2.6.32
Hi,
I am used to test our Proxmox VE (the OpenVZ part) using vmware workstation and
on esxi.
I got basically no issues, but you must be prepared for performance loss, I/O
and network - especially if you stress the whole vmware system by multiple
guests. I cannot provide any figures but
shutdown while running vzdump --snapshot
Now that the server is up how should I get rid of the snapshot lv
try lvremove.

Hi all,
I installed centos 5 with OpenVZ, running about 5 VE´s. As there is still one
win 2003 server to run, I installed vmware server on the same host. As the
system is quite fast (quadcore xeon, 4gb memory, 2 hardware raids) and the load
not very high I did not see any problems till now.
