Your configuration will look for the hostname mailhost in the dns
domain of the same machine that the server runs on... If this is a unix
box with a /etc/hosts of:
127.0.0.1 localhost mailhost
it would explain this behavor.
Try changing the mailhost in the config file to smtpabcd and see
could it be your provider or network is blocking port 25 connections through
apps other than the standard email app used? i.e. your company might block port
25 if not being accessed by LotusMail or Outlook.
