Dear Ms. Saunders: Under "Global Notebook" in the August issue of ASTM "Standardization News" is a Note titled "Wanted: Measurements with Good References" which includes a photograph of a non-metric scale for the measurement of length. Did you select this non-metric scale, or was this *objectionable* choice made by an ASTM editor? Does NIST favor metric (SI), or non-metric Global Standards? Prof. Eugene A.
