Subject: NIST Global Standards Program

Dear Ms. Saunders:

Under "Global Notebook" in the August issue of ASTM "Standardization News"
is a Note titled "Wanted: Measurements with Good References" which includes
a photograph of a non-metric scale for the measurement of length.

Did you select this non-metric scale, or was this *objectionable* choice
made by an ASTM editor?

Does NIST favor metric (SI), or non-metric Global Standards?
