I also think it is a bad idea!! I think it will only hinder the competitive nature of
football to have the UK all lumped in together as one team!!
For political purposes, unity is a great thing but in sport, I just don't believe it
can work!!
In football, I believe you need the competitive nature of individual nations to make
the football (not soccer...uugh) world cup the occasion it is!!
Plus if kilopascal's suggestion that Europe should form one individual team would
cancel out Euro 2004 at a stroke!! Who are they going to play?? And are the English
going to sacrifice the possibility of stuffing the Germans in the Euro championships??
I should coco!!
No!! By all means, let's have political and monetary union, but let's keep it out of
sport, eh??
