I'm going to replace the gaskets and seals tommorrow. After looking, I
realized it will be kind of difficult to reach those bolts! Are long L tools
the only way to get them? I have my carbs and airbox off already. Right now
I only have T-handles and the flip-out pocket knife style Hex key
I know that there was a discussion earlier this year about the blue xenon

and would appreciate if I could be pointed in the right direction.

You know installing an aftermarket pipe, jet kit etc. opens up other
expensive considerations such as front fork upgrade, replace rear
shocks, brace swingarm, frame upgrade, solid mounts upgrade front brake at
least to double piston, replace wheels and modify rear end for bigger rubber

Can't say I agree with you on that. It is not critical like a fuel

Working off of Terry's comments, adding another opening in the airbox should
not be that difficult. If the desired RPM activation range is in sync with
the Vboost servo actuation then couldn't you tie into that. Just fabricate a
butterfly type valve in the top of your airbox with a cable
They are all pretty much the same, about 108 from the factory. The newer
('92 and up) may have 1 or 2 more hp due to the newer ignition system.

Hi Todd,
I was able to make this tool for less than $15 (including a visit to the welder)
using the info provided by Bob Huber on Paul's page. It works great.

My wonderful shop ordered me two head gaskets and 16 rubber plugs (item #29).
I needed 16 round seals (#28). Should I bother swapping them out? Are
these needed to be replaced? They look like rubber bolts with 2 rings on the

Bob,
I just had an opportunity to read your full story.
You poor guy. Let me know if you need a shoulder to cry on. There, there
now, just let it out. It'll be alright. Don't worry, I think you Max looks
real cool with a super charger.
I guess this is one of those live and learn experiences.
Bob,
Just read your story, wish it was an easier process for you.
Info that may have helped about Magna Charger:
I found contact for the head of a division from Magnacharger named Bill. He
has a Vmax with the system installed. And is the builder of the systems for
Magna Charger. I talked to
hindles sound good but a kerker w/ a 2" baffle is
hard to beat. unless you get the 2.5" baffle which
I hear is unbearable. of course w/ a kerker you
lose your centerstand but gain in clearance. my
bike is lowered so i wanted the kerker so i wouldn't
crush my headpipes like i've heard others
Crushed headpipe...been there done that. I guess I had too many candy bars. But
I have to say I like the grunt and sound that the Hindle gives me. I just wish
they would re-jig the setup and makes the front two headers run side by side not
one on top of the other.

To all who care,
I have used a Hindle and now have a Kerker. I wanted to prove which pipe was
better. I have lost track of all the dyno runs that Ive done.
FACT:
1. Kerker makes significant increase in TORQUE over the Hindle. 4Ft Lbs Peak
and more than 15 ft lbs at 3500rpm
