What I did is the following: I took a tach from a Yamaha Virago. This is the
same style and size. You only have to modify the bracket to mount it. Also
it has a fuel indication...

Also you can replace the scale, but it

If you fool with the perimeters on a dyno you can get whatever readings
you want. In this case it may be right. A friend with a bone stock 86
did 119 hp. A new 94 off the floor with only a couple of hunderd miles
did 120 hp. Its all according to how the motor was put together, whether
it was set

distilled water is ok . I use distilled water . De-ionized water can be
found in the grocery store, at least in my area of the world .

I have a 99 Max. When ever I bring my 200 lbs. friend along for a ride, and if I am
under 20 MPH, I have a wobble in my handle bars/front end. What is the remidy? Do I
need a steering stablizer, or would a beefed up sway bar be the answer?
Thanks

the welding tab method allows the brace to sit in
the most correct position for maximum bracing. it's
a judgement call. if it's too much trouble to weld
the tabs then go w/ the holeshoti'm not sure
what the price diff is but walker's stuff is always
expensive.

Kraig,
Try the Furbur fix first. When your buddy is on the back it messes with the load on
the front and will exaggerate the wobble. Check out http://www.sayegh.org/furbur.htm
for ideas on how to correct your wobble.

Works fine if you don't have a Corbin seat. Furber is cheaper, Don

That's not your problem but the guy that welds them for Dale does a nice job

The remedy Kraig, is to tell your big buddy to get his own V-Max!

The front end of the bar goes on an engine bolt. You go ahead and bolt the
tab to the brace and then hold it against the frame while you tack it in
place.
I remember awhile back when we all went through
"which brake pads I use and why" but can not find it in the archives, it may
have been before Paul started it. Since I am readynow would you all
mind going over it again?

Thomas, I recently installed new front and rear pads. I used EBC FA-160
HH
pads on the front and EBC FA-88 Kevlar on the rear.
This was based on advice from several VMOA members in the last 6 months.
The HH fronts are sintered material but don't increase disc wear. They
are extremely effective
